All But The Kitchen Sink, May 2026

Hey, it’s George here - welcome back to All But The Kitchen Sink! I’m excited to take the reins for this edition and share with you some wonderful finds that are filling my cup right up!
It’s been a BIG month for us so far. Our kitchen renovation project has really ratched up (Gaz’s has recorded a new reno diary video featuring all the latest demolition news!). Plus, we are now officially a family of four! Prepare yourselves for an outrageously cute introduction to the newest member of the Community Cutlery team!

We’re starting to think about our summer holidays and for us, this means dreaming about North Wales, a place we’ve been visiting for 10 years now. Abersoch, in particular, has some pretty strong magnetic qualities, not least its stunning beaches which, if you’re lucky, are often brilliant vantage points for dolphin spotting! We love to camp near Abersoch and fill our days with dog walks, loafing on the beach with good books and quietly mooching around this gorgeous seaside town - it’s honestly the perfect reset for us.
One place we make a pilgrimage to every time is Two Islands Ice Cream. It’s so great, I had to give you all the scoop!
It’s a small-batch ice cream parlour serving, hands-down, some of the best ice cream we’ve ever had. Inspired by West Coast ice cream parlours in the US, it stands out to me because the flavours are truly original and exciting - they’re grown-up and rich but not too far-out! My go-to is either black cherry or espresso and Gaz usually chooses the vegan chocolate orange (which is SO creamy!).
We can’t wait to return this summer and if you’re heading to this beautiful area too, make sure you drop in too!
WATCH
Okay, you’ll notice a theme emerging here but my TV recommendation this month is Our Welsh Chapel Dream on Channel 4. We’re obsessed!

The series follows potter and Great Pottery Throw Down judge Keith Brymer Jones and his wife Marj Hogarth as they renovate Capel Salem, a derelict Grade II listed 19th-century chapel in North Wales. Their aim is to turn it into their forever home, with a pottery studio and community hub.
It’s a big emotional restoration project featuring a beautiful old building, huge ambition and horrifying practical problems (the chapel is over 100 years old and has survived a major fire!).
The show really feeds my love of the past! Whilst renovating, they’re unearthing history left, right and centre which I find so interesting. The best bit is that they don't waste anything; it all gets spruced up and repurposed somewhere else in the build.
We can’t get enough of Keith and Marj’s warmth and optimism as they face all this renovation jeopardy - it’s really putting our own kitchen project into perspective. It makes us think: "Bloody hell, if Keith and Marj can transform a massive, knackered old chapel then we can knock a couple of walls down and put in a new kitchen, no problem!"
I think anyone who's renovating or needing some inspo would love it, as well as those interested in history and the unusual. Keith and Marj have a very eclectic style, which is so refreshing, and they’re both makers too so they’re constantly creating and crafting things for their home.
It’s a real feel-good, inspirational watch ☺️
SHOP
I’ve been loving Form Lifestyle Store in Manchester. It’s a beautifully-curated shop tucked away in a corner of the city’s Northern Quarter housing an enviable collection of sourced antiques, vintage stoneware pottery, locally-crafted items and jewellery.
It’s a really special find. I want our house to look like this shop! The space is unusual for that area - it’s light and cavernous, featuring a spiral staircase as a focal point. They have similar values to us too, centering around craftsmanship, often working directly with the makers. They also choose items that are timeless, simple in form and which function perfectly.
The best thing? You can buy their beautiful wares online too! Enjoy :)
RENO DIARIES
After a few small delays at the beginning of the month, it’s now all-systems-go with our kitchen renovation project! I think this is quite a common pattern with renovation work isn’t it? You wait for ages for everyone to align and dates to be agreed and before you know it, you’re having your cornflakes and a guy with a sledge hammer appears at your front door!
I say this for dramatic effect but trust me when I say we had about eight hours to prepare the whole house ahead of two internal walls being removed!
Any road, we rallied, they rallied and we have an almighty before and after to share with you in our second reno diary video this week.
Have a watch here!
SAY HELLO TO COSMO!
I feel we’ve saved the best ‘til last.
Everyone, please meet our new Whippet puppy Cosmo!

We are completely smitten and, dare I say it, so is Mookie, Cosmo’s big brother!

🤣
We decided on the name Cosmo in honour of one of our all-time favourite TV characters, Cosmo Kramer from the '90s sitcom Seinfeld. We've had it on the back burner for years!
The first week has been an absolute dream. Mookie has been an exemplary big brother, showing him the ropes and keeping him in line! However, Cosmo is a bold little guy and does not back down from intimidation. He's rough and tumbled with Mookie from the moment they met, and he has met his match!
Within 48hrs they had snuggled up together (briefly!) and now, there is a definite bromance there 🥰 He's super chill and will happily lie in our arms whilst we chat to customers. He's going to be great for business and already has a fanbase 😁
