International Shipping
International Shipping
We currently offer international shipping to selected countries. Available shipping destinations and prices are shown at checkout once you enter your delivery address.
All international orders are sent using a tracked service. Delivery estimates vary by destination and are shown as a guide only. Delays can occasionally happen due to customs processing, local delivery networks, public holidays, incorrect address details, or import payments awaiting action from the customer.
Typical delivery aims are:
Europe: usually 3–5 working days
USA and Canada: usually 4–7 working days
Rest of World: usually 5–8 working days
These estimates exclude the day of posting, weekends, bank holidays, and any time spent in customs.
Import Duties, Taxes, Tariffs and Customs Charges
International orders may be subject to import VAT, customs duties, tariffs, local taxes, courier handling fees, or other charges depending on the destination country.
For most international destinations, these charges are not included in the product price or shipping price paid to Community Cutlery unless clearly stated otherwise at checkout. The customer is responsible for paying any import duties, taxes, tariffs, customs charges, or handling fees required by the destination country before delivery can be completed.
Orders to the United States may be handled differently because US customs require certain USA services to be sent using a duties-paid or postal duties-paid process. Where this applies, any required duties-paid handling will be dealt with through the shipping process rather than as a standard unpaid customs charge on arrival.
We do our best to provide clear information before checkout, but we cannot predict or control every charge, delay, customs decision, or handling process applied by customs authorities, postal services, or local delivery partners.
If you are unsure what charges may apply in your country, we recommend checking your local import rules before placing an order.
Customs Information
To ship internationally, we must provide accurate customs information, including the parcel contents, value, country of origin where required, and relevant product details.
We cannot mark orders as gifts, reduce the declared value, or misdescribe the contents of a parcel in order to reduce import charges. The declared value will reflect the order value paid.
Customs authorities may open, inspect, delay, or refuse parcels at their discretion. These processes are outside our control.
Delays at Customs
Customs delays are not common for every parcel, but they can happen.
If a parcel is delayed in customs, we will help where we reasonably can, but the customer may need to respond to requests from the local courier, postal service, or customs authority. This may include paying import charges, confirming personal details, or providing additional information.
A customs delay does not automatically mean a parcel is lost.
Refused or Uncollected Parcels
If a parcel is refused, import charges are not paid, delivery is missed repeatedly, or the parcel is not collected from a local depot or collection point, it may be returned to us.
If the parcel is returned safely to us, we can refund the cost of the goods, minus any original shipping charge, return shipping cost, customs charges, courier fees, payment processing fees, or other costs we are charged as a result of the return.
If the parcel is not returned to us, or is abandoned, destroyed, seized, or otherwise disposed of by customs or the local delivery provider, we may not be able to issue a refund.
Incorrect Address Details
Please make sure your delivery address, email address, and phone number are correct when placing your order.
International delivery often relies on the local postal service or courier being able to contact you about customs charges or delivery arrangements.
If a parcel is delayed, returned, or lost because the delivery details provided were incorrect or incomplete, we may not be able to refund the order or shipping cost.
Age-Restricted Products
Many of the products we sell are kitchen knives or other age-restricted items.
By placing an international order for an age-restricted product, you confirm that you are legally old enough to purchase, import, and receive that item in your country.
It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure the item can be legally imported into their country. We cannot be responsible for items delayed, refused, seized, or destroyed by customs because of local import restrictions.
Returns from Outside the UK
International customers may return eligible items in line with our returns policy.
Unless the item is faulty or we have made a mistake with your order, the customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping.
Returned items must be unused, safely packaged, and sent using a tracked service. The customer is responsible for the parcel until it reaches us.
Please contact us before returning an international order so we can confirm the return address and any customs information that should be included.
If customs charges, duties, tariffs, handling fees, or other costs are applied to a returned parcel, these may be deducted from your refund.
Faulty or Incorrect Items
If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number, photographs of the item, and photographs of the packaging.
We will review the issue and put things right where appropriate. Please do not return an item before contacting us, as international returns need to be handled carefully to avoid unnecessary customs charges.
Shipping Prices
International shipping prices are flat rates based on destination zones. These prices contribute towards postage, tracking, packaging, handling, and additional compensation where available.
Shipping charges are non-refundable unless the order is cancelled before dispatch, or unless we have made an error with your order.
Countries We Currently Ship To
We currently ship to selected international destinations only. If your country is not available at checkout, please contact us before placing an order and we may be able to provide a manual shipping quote.
We may decline to ship an order if we believe the destination, product type, customs rules, courier restrictions, or parcel value make delivery unsuitable or unreliable.
