Iris Hantverk Purl-Stitched Dishcloth

A durable, reusable dishcloth knitted in a traditional purl stitch, offering texture, strength and excellent absorbency.

Made from a balanced blend of 55% linen and 45% organic cotton yarn, the cloth combines linen’s durability and quick-drying properties with the softness and flexibility of cotton. The result is a sturdy everyday cloth that holds its structure well and stands up to repeated laundering.

When it gets dirty, simply wash and reuse — designed for long-term rotation rather than disposal.

Available in a range of colours, adding a subtle seasonal accent to the kitchen countertop.

Traditional Swedish Brushmaking

Iris Hantverk was founded in Stockholm in the late 1800s as a brush-binding workshop employing visually impaired craftsmen — a model that continues today. A core part of their production is still carried out by blind and visually impaired artisans trained in traditional brush binding techniques.

Brush binding is a highly tactile craft. Small holes are drilled into the wooden handle and bundles of natural fibre are pulled through and secured by hand using wire. It’s skilled, repetitive work that relies on touch, rhythm and precision rather than sight — one of the reasons the trade historically provided meaningful employment for blind craftsmen across Scandinavia.

Today, Iris Hantverk works with visually impaired artisans in Sweden and Estonia, maintaining both the social mission and the craft integrity of the brand.

Each brush — whether for vegetables, dishes or body care — reflects that heritage: oil-treated birch handles, natural fibres, and careful hand assembly. Practical tools, made slowly and with purpose, designed to last for years rather than seasons.

We ship Tuesday to Saturday using Royal Mail Tracked 24.

All knives ship via an age verified service in accordance with The Offensive Weapons Act 2019, which will mean the postie will need you to be in to receive the delivery & to check your ID if you look under 25.

The law also requires us to carry out a soft age check of the purchaser after checkout, this is done by an automated system that usually doesn't require your input, although we will need to contact you for proof of age if you fail, which can sometimes happen if you use a work address.
