Ever fancied learning how to sharpen your own knives? Tried in the past but "worried about ruining them"? Had a whetstone for years but "never got round to learning how to use it"?
Sharpening on traditional whetstones can be tricky, but fear not, we've sharpened thousands of knives over the years and are confident that once you've spent a couple of hours on our Knife Sharpening for Beginners course you'll leave the workshop with a new found confidence in your ability.
Run in groups of 4 at our Ilkley workshop, our 2 hour courses cover; the essential sharpening theory which will form the basis of your practical work, an in-depth demonstration highlighting the proper technique required to achieve a great edge and time for you to practice what you've learned under the guidance of an experienced whetstone sharpener.
This course is about teaching you how to sharpen your own knives, so make sure you bring along 4 of your own to work on.
The course fee will also include a stropping paddle to maintain your freshly sharpened knives at home (rrp £18), a mobile optimised guide featuring demonstrations and the basics of sharpening theory and 10% off in store on day of event
We'll also support you throughout your sharpening journey. If you get stuck just pop in or get in touch another way with your questions, we'll do what we can to help you put your skills to use.
