Mizuno Seisakujo – Bushcraft Hatchet
A superb all-round bushcraft hatchet from Mizuno. Compact, powerful and incredibly capable, it’s ideal for processing kindling, splitting smaller logs, taking off limbs and even hammering in stakes with the flat poll. Just as useful at home by the woodpile as it is outdoors.

Hand-Forged in Sanjo by Master Blacksmith Isao Mizuno
Made by Isao Mizuno and his sons in Sanjo, Japan, each axe embodies the family’s values of beauty, function and longevity. Traditional forging, careful shaping and uncompromising craftsmanship define every piece they make.

–––

Warikomi Construction – Sharpness & Durability in One
Each head is forged using the warikomi method: a softer steel body is heated and split to accept a high-carbon steel core. Once forged back together, this creates a single, unified axe head with a hard, razor-sharp edge and a softer outer cladding that absorbs shock and impact.

–––

Seven Mountain Gods
Each head features seven decorative gouges — four on one side, three on the other — representing the Mountain Gods. The eighth is intentionally left absent to ward off bad luck and keep the user safe.

–––

Scorched Japanese White Oak Handle
Handles are shaped from Japanese white oak and finished with a traditional scorching technique. This seals the wood, enhances durability and gives each hatchet a beautifully rich, tactile finish.

We ship Tuesday to Saturday using Royal Mail Tracked 24.

All knives ship via an age verified service in accordance with The Offensive Weapons Act 2019, which will mean the postie will need you to be in to receive the delivery & to check your ID if you look under 25.

The law also requires us to carry out a soft age check of the purchaser after checkout, this is done by an automated system that usually doesn't require your input, although we will need to contact you for proof of age if you fail, which can sometimes happen if you use a work address.
