Niwaki Garden Snips – Light, Precise, Made for Detail
Perfect for flowers, fruit, veg and all the lighter pruning jobs around the garden. These snips excel at detailed cutting, thinning and tidying — and can handle light woody material when needed. Small, sharp and incredibly nimble.

Precision Japanese Blades
Made from SK-85 steel, the blades are fine, sharp and responsive. Keep them clean — sap and resin build up quickly on precision tools, and a quick wipe after use keeps them performing at their best.

–––

How to Use Them Properly
Japanese steel is hard and sharp, which also makes it more brittle if misused. A few simple rules keep your snips in top condition:

  • Don’t cut wire, metal, stone, plastic or other hard materials

  • Avoid bamboo fibres and very hard woods (especially knots and burrs)

  • Don’t twist or lever while cutting

  • Cut diagonally along the fibres, not straight across

  • Respect the max cut diameter (Ø3mm)

  • Use the base of the blades for heavier cuts, not the tips

Niwaki – Tools with Purpose
Born from a fascination with Japanese gardens, Niwaki create tools that combine thoughtful design, practicality and proper craftsmanship. What began with a handful of tools brought back from Japan has grown into a brand trusted by gardeners worldwide.

All knives ship via an age verified service in accordance with The Offensive Weapons Act 2019, which will mean the postie will need you to be in to receive the delivery & to check your ID if you look under 25.

The law also requires us to carry out a soft age check of the purchaser after checkout, this is done by an automated system that usually doesn't require your input, although we will need to contact you for proof of age if you fail, which can sometimes happen if you use a work address.
