How to Use Them Properly
Japanese steel is hard and sharp, which also makes it more brittle if misused. A few simple rules keep your snips in top condition:
Don’t cut wire, metal, stone, plastic or other hard materials
Avoid bamboo fibres and very hard woods (especially knots and burrs)
Don’t twist or lever while cutting
Cut diagonally along the fibres, not straight across
Respect the max cut diameter (Ø3mm)
Use the base of the blades for heavier cuts, not the tips
