Born in Tokyo in 1915, Sori Yanagi studied both art and architecture before turning his attention to product design. After WWII he created everything from furniture to Olympic cauldrons, but it’s his stainless steel kitchen tools we love most — elegant, unfussy, functional objects that favour organic forms over trends and efficiency over excess.
