Designer
Born in Tokyo in 1915, Sori Yanagi studied art and architecture before moving into product design. After WWII he created furniture, vehicles, Olympic objects and — the pieces we love him for — his iconic stainless steel kitchen tools. Celebrated for blending Japanese craft values with modern industrial design, his work remains a benchmark of honest, functional beauty.
